Is my store design too unconventional? Need feedback

Hi,

I'm new and only two products to work with at the present time. So not much navigation. I've been working on the store, and it's not the typical design I've been seeing with a dark header and footer and one big photo.

I'd appreciate honest opinions on if I went too far, and should I simplify and make it look like most. Thank you.

Hi there,

One of the key things to remember when creating a layout for such a product category is to keep the design minimalistic. It's important to let your product photography take center stage. High-quality, professionally shot photos can speak volumes about your products and the lifestyle they promote.

When implementing this minimalistic approach, pay careful attention to the backdrop against which your products are displayed. If your background image is overly busy or attention-grabbing, it could be more of a distraction rather than a support to the product images. The purpose of the background should be to complement and subtly enhance the product presentation, not to steal the limelight.

Try to experiment with simple, neutral backgrounds that allow the colors and details of your products to truly pop. This will ensure that the visitor's attention is drawn directly to the products themselves, thereby improving the chances of a successful sale.

These are just some basic tips, but as with everything in design, it's all about balancing elements to create an engaging and effective user experience. I hope you find these tips helpful for your own online stores!

Best of luck with your designs!

Thanks Dan. Do you know of a good badge app? I'd like to put a couple badges in the footer, or maybe the header, but the apps I've seen are limited.

Hi  @autotech44

I am Garcia from PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder App. I understand that you have only 2 products thus the design of the site is really important. I have some feedback for your Store and hope that they can help you increase the design.

1. Improve hero banner

The hero banner is the first thing visitors see on your website, to create the balance and improve the UX of the banner, you can center the content. Moreover, an overlay will help to make the CTA buttons and slogan be more outstanding.

2. Add Product Carousel

Create a product carousel or slider that showcases both products in a visually appealing way. This allows users to see both products without cluttering the homepage. Moreover, display more information about both products allow customers to have a full vision about them.

3. Add more sections on Homepage

Incorporating specific sections on the homepage that emphasizes the advantages of your products or services can have a substantial influence on consumer buying choices.

  • Add call-out features section: It draws visitors' attention to the unique aspects that set your offerings apart from competitors.

  •  Add About us section: The "About Us" section provides an opportunity to introduce your company, its history, and its mission. This helps build trust with potential customers by showing that your business is legitimate and has a genuine purpose.

4. Prepare for the Holiday season (BFCM, Halloween,...)

Furthermore, make the most of the available promotion campaigns starting now and lasting until the year's end. This presents a significant chance to boost your Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) by adequately preparing for the upcoming holiday season.

  • Create a dedicated landing page on your website. Showcase featured products, promotions, and campaign details with an appealing design that aligns with the holiday theme. Ensure seamless navigation for customers to explore and make purchases.
  • Offer compelling promotions and discounts tailored specifically for the holiday.
