Feedback for your online store from the community
Hey, I'm relatively new to Shopify and I've made a couple of sales on my store but I just want to know how I can further improve. I target a specific niche that is not that popular but has a very dedicated fan base, y2k //egirl fashion. I just need any feedback on my webstore even if you are not into the niche.

Hi @y2kclubz,
Hyde here from Shopify. Welcome to the platform and congratulations!
Your store is looking great, you've done a superb job. It's great too that you've picked a very niche area. I'll confess I don't know much about it myself. Coming in cold, though with plenty of experience giving feedback on stores, I have some suggestions that I think may help. First off: introduce your brand. I can see that you have a short paragraph tucked away in the footer menu:
But it helps to introduce visitors to what your brand is about and who you are straight away. Perhaps you'd consider an About Us page in your menu or as a section on your homepage? Here's what an About Us page should contain and here's how to create one.
In a similar vein, you want to establish yourself as an authority in your niche. To do this you need to create content. You could focus on writing blog content around your business, your niche, and also your products such as:
- guides to using your products
- products that work well together
- your journey in starting this business
- commentary on a major topic within your niche
- interviews with influencers within your niche
So, create a blog this is super important, and here's why. We’ve put together a whole section here on our blog that deals with optimizing your conversion rate. There’s one blog in particular here that deals with ways to increase your conversions that I would recommend.
I hope this helps, but feel free to send me more questions I'm happy to help!
All the best, Hyde.

Hi @y2kclubz !
Welcome to Shopify and I wish you good luck!
The sale you have seems to be a nice deal, however, when you make such a big amount off it might devalue your product. People always need to know why you have made such sales, is it a seasonal sale? or is it because there is no demand for it? Does that mean the product is bad?
Instead of giving a discount for nothing, give them rewards for completing certain actions on your store ex. for creating accounts, for leaving a review, for sharing your site, for spending money on your site. It is not difficult for a user to do and you will get so many actions on your site, and you are having discounts anyway.Use a referral program that will encourage your existing customers to share your products with their friends by giving discounts if the latter have purchased something from your store. With referral programs it is important to carefully set up so that you are not giving huge discounts and not getting anything back. [I recommend using one by Growave., because it is safe and it is integrated with 6 other marketing features (Reviews, Wishlist, Rewards, Social Login, Instagram, Discounts, Referral, VIP tiers) for better performance.
Hopefully, I managed to help you. If so, please let me know by liking this post.
