Regarding Payment gateway priority on checkout page

I am a programer and have some query regarding payment gateway displaying on checkout page. So just wanted to know the hierarchy of payment provider displaying on checkout page of shopify. i.e third party payment gateway comes first or alternate payment gateway comes first?
