Why am I not getting sales on my powersports parts store?

We have a powersports parts store. It launched on January 1, 2024 and are averaging over 500 visits per day and about 3-5 items added to cart and 1-2 people that make it to checkout. But we still have not seen our first sale. I would appreciate if someone could take a look and give any suggestions you have.

Hi @bba39,

This is Kate from PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app.

I'm genuinely impressed, especially knowing you're just starting out. Your site has a stylish flair while remaining clean, clear, and professional. From my CRO expertise, I’d love to give you my suggestions to improve your conversion rates:

1. Improve your hero banner with an attractive CTA button

Currently, you are using a slideshow effect for your hero banner section. It's important to ensure that all the slides include a Call-to-Action (CTA) button. Enhancing the attractiveness of these buttons can significantly boost customer engagement and encourage them to make a purchase decision.

Add the CTA button for your first slide

Make your slide's CTA button more attractive by adding a color-change effect. When a customer hovers over it, the button should change to a different color.

2. Have a product list section on your homepage

Besides the collection section, the product list should allow customers to quickly grasp specific products your store offers, accompanied by short descriptions. Ensure your homepage clearly communicates what your store offers:

  • Use high-quality images and clear, concise text
  • Use the product list section, consider titling the product list as "Best Seller Products" "XYZ Collection" showcasing products from the XYZ collection, or "Hot Sale Products." This approach will also enhance the section's attractiveness to viewers.

3. Recheck the link to your collection and the collection detail

Currently, there are some brand icons on the site that, when clicked, link to empty collections showing no products. This can reduce the customer experience and cause confusion.

4. Cart Abandonment Strategy

Implement a cart abandonment email strategy to re-engage customers who leave without purchasing.

Consider exit-intent pop-ups offering a discount or free shipping to encourage users to complete the purchase.

5. Use A/B Testing

A/B testing is a powerful method to optimize your store for better conversion rates. It involves comparing two versions of a web page (or page element) to see which performs better. Here are some specific A/B testing ideas for your powersports parts store:

Homepage Layout:

Test two different layouts for your homepage. For instance, one layout could feature a large, prominent hero image with a clear call-to-action (CTA), while another might focus more on featured products or categories.

CTA Buttons:

Experiment with different CTA button designs on product pages. Test variations in color, size, text, and placement to see which generates more clicks and conversions.

Product Descriptions:

Try different formats for your product descriptions. One version could be concise and feature bullet points, while another might be more narrative and detailed. Measure which leads to more time spent on page and conversions.

Pricing Display:

Test how you display pricing. For example, you could compare a straightforward price display versus showing a discounted price from a higher original price (if applicable).

Checkout Process:

Simplify the checkout process in one version by reducing the number of steps or required fields. Compare this with your current checkout process to see if it reduces cart abandonment.

I hope you find these suggestions helpful in optimizing your website's conversion rate. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. I wish you the best of luck with your online venture.

Best regards,

Kate | PageFly Team

Thank you for the suggestions. I really appreciate it. I have a question. My theme doesn't have a product list, only featured product. Is there a app where I can get the product list?

Hi @bba39,

To display the product list on the homepage, consider using a page builder app for this section, such as PageFly, GemPages, or EComposer.

Hope this helps!
