Adding Custom Monogram Option to Product (code comes up blank)

Hi!

Hoping somebody can help me out. I am trying to add a custom field option on my product page (so that customers can add monograming to their product). I'm following the same code/instructions that I've seen several times. The one on this page: https://community.shopify.com/c/Shopify-Design/Product-pages-Get-customization-information-for-produ....

When I get to the step that comes after adding a new template, the code doesn't "duplicate" (sorry I don't know all the lingo, lol.)

All I see is this:

{% section 'product' %}

{% section 'framework--product-recommendations' %}

So there's nothing to work with. Any idea how to fix this? 

I'm using the Blockshop theme, btw!
