Hello!
I have bought another domain as my branded domain for shorten link at "cuttly". I set the DNS A record and DNS TXT record according to the "cuttly" requirements. But SSL cannot be set up at shopify and it shows like the photo below, could anyone help me solve the problem?
Thanks a lot!
Hi @muskeask
Thanks for reaching out!
I understand you are experiencing some difficulties with the SLL cert on your store domain - I'd be happy to help troubleshoot this here with you!
You mentioned that you are using a shortened link at 'Cuttly'. It looks like this is a link shortening service similar to Bitly, is that correct? Could you explain how this is interacting with your domain, and what you are trying to achieve when using this?
Can you also please confirm if you are trying to transfer the domain into Shopify from another host, or if you are keeping the domain with the third party host and simply connecting the domain to your Shopify store?
If you are trying to connect a third party domain to Shopify, you can follow along with this guide here which explains what you need to do with the DNS settings of the domain. If you could provide either the domain URL, or screenshots of the domain DNS settings I can take a closer look and help you identify issues with the DNS setup. You mentioned about a DNS TXT record - bear in mind that this type of record is not a requirement for adding a domain to Shopify. Any information about why you need that would be good to know.
We also have a guide for how to transfer a domain to Shopify, which explains the steps required and what to expect during the process.
Any extra information about the steps you have taken so far, and how the 'Cuttly' service is interacting with this domain will be helpful for troubleshooting this with you. Looking forward to hearing back!

Hi @muskeask
Thanks for confirming what that service does. Would it be possible to explain why you are using this with your domain, and not just connecting the full domain name to your Shopify store?
It looks like you have tried to attach some images, however they don't appear to be visible. Feel free to try to attach them again and I can take a look.
Generally when you connect a domain to your Shopify store, and set the DNS settings according to our specified requirements, the SSL certificate is automatically issued and set up. As you are introducing another third party link shortening service, it's certainly possible that it is causing issues and preventing the SSL certificate from being issued for your domain.
I would suggest reaching out to the Cuttly support team and inquiring about setting this up. They may be able to offer some advice or insight into getting this to work with Shopify. If you have confirmed that the domain is showing in your admin, and the DNS settings have been correctly set up as per the above guide, and you are still having issues with the SSL certificate then you can feel free to contact our support team using this link here.
I cannot make any guarantees that we will be able to support this, as it is a somewhat advanced scenario, but the support advisor will be able to comment on that after taking a closer look.
