Hey @Benny56

I can certainly help clarify the process of using Shopify URL redirects and how it relates to resolving issues with the Google Merchant dashboard. Here's a step-by-step explanation:

  1. URL Redirects in Shopify: URL redirects in Shopify allow you to redirect traffic from one URL to another within your Shopify store. This is useful when you have changed the URL structure of your store or have moved pages. It helps maintain SEO rankings and ensures a smooth user experience.

  2. Consolidating Data: If you need to consolidate data from multiple pages in your Shopify store onto a single page, you'll need to manually copy and merge the content from those pages into the desired page. Shopify doesn't offer an automated feature to consolidate data from different pages into one.

  3. Exporting Data: To export data from your Shopify store, including product information, you can use Shopify's CSV export feature. This allows you to export product details, variants, pricing, and other relevant information in a CSV file format.

  4. Google Merchant Dashboard: The Google Merchant dashboard is used to manage and upload product data feeds to Google for various purposes, such as Google Shopping listings. The format typically required for product data feeds is XML, which is different from CSV.

  5. XML Conversion: To upload your product data from Shopify to the Google Merchant dashboard, you'll need to convert the CSV file into the XML format that Google requires. There are various tools and services available online that can help you convert CSV to XML. You can search for "CSV to XML converter" to find suitable options.

Regarding your mention of Shopify URL redirects, they are used to redirect traffic from one URL to another within your Shopify store, but they don't directly relate to data consolidation or XML conversion for the Google Merchant dashboard.

@Moeed make sure when you use AI generated answers, that the answers you provide are helpful. Currenlty you are not addressing the question.

@Benny56 When you redirect a page in Shopify, Google Merchant Center will not use the redirect. It will only use the product URL currently active on your website.

It is also not allowed to submit redirected URLs to Google Merchant Center, you must alwsays use the final destination.

If you are unsure what URL's are submitted, you can check by going to Google Merchant Center > products > all products > click on your product > scroll to the bottom and view the final attributes.
