We have image reduction and image size restrictions and we have image preloads setup for above the fold images. In tests, the images do not appear to be the issue. Yet we see over 4s LCP particularly on non-English, i.e. translated, pages. We can find no issue per se with the translated pages.
We ran into this a year ago and did an entire site rebuild in Flex last year. We were talking with Shopify as we were not green, but now, with no changes made to our shop in over 2 months, starting 7 days ago, June 19, this issue grew worse - getting flagged on Google Search Console:
We can see some indication that Shopify CDN is at play as LCP declines in speed as customers access the store farther and farther geographically from Canada:
We have been in touch with Shopify and Cloudflare regarding the CDN.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Please note: we'd are willing to hire a consultant with references from other Shopify Plus Stores if they are able to diagnose our specific LCP issue. On providing a correction, however, we do not want a one-size-fits-all website overhaul or set of scripts run. If we hire a consultant, we're looking for a diagnosis of our specific LCP issue and specific steps to correct it .
