Why are webhooks from third-party stores occasionally delayed?

Hi there

We run a service that relies on webhooks being received from 3rd party stores, then we deliver an email to the customer directly afterwards. 99% of the time, the webhooks arrive within a few milliseconds but a number of times the webhook isn't sent to us until up to a few hours later.

This seems to be happening more and more recently. Is this a known issue?

Did you manage to find a solution for this one? We are experiencing the same issue.
Would appreciate any findings you may have 🙂

No the issue in the end was because there were two webhooks being triggered. The first one was holding an order in "pending" for an hour, then it was auto completing after that so then our webhook was triggered.

So the issue was caused by a secondary webhook being triggered first and delaying our webhook being triggered

We have encountered this issue several times and I do not think it has to do with more than webhook being triggered.  Every now and then a webhook for an order is received late; sometimes minutes and sometimes hours.  The interesting thing is that other orders sent during and after this order come through on time.  Is there any explanation for this?  The problem for us is that a customer is expecting download instructions after placing the order and the webhook is what triggers that.
