Why can't I login to my ecommerce site?

Hi,

I have a problem loading the login screen at Shopify. I can load the main page, but the page goes blank when I push login. I've cleared my cache and tried both Chrome & Edge still can't find a solution.

We haven't received any other reports on this, so let's continue to troubleshoot this locally on your end so that we can rule out any potential browser or device caching issues. Can you try the following for me please?

 

 

  • Try logging in to your account via an incognito window
  • Do you have access to any other browsers? If so, you can also try another browser such as Firefox or Safari to see if that'll help
  • You can also try to use another device, such as your mobile, a tablet, or a different laptop to see if the issue persists

Hi,

The incognito window did not work unfortunately. I can login through my
Ipad and phone but would like to work at my computer because it makes
things easier.
Any other ideas?

Seeing as you're able to login successfully on other devices it sounds like the issue lies within your computer—either at a device or browser level. I definitely understand your concerns about wanting to login on your computer though, as it's much easier to complete most tasks via a larger screen.

 

Try going through the below steps, to see if any of them will help:

 

  • For the browsers available on your computer, have you ensured that they're all up to date and on the latest version? Updating to the latest version tend to eliminate errors with an outdated browser, so if you haven't already done so you can update your browsers and try to login to your account again on the newly updated browsers.
  • Ensure your browsers' cookie preferences are not set to 'Block all cookies'. If all cookies are blocked, this may impact on any added functionalities of Shopify.
  • When using incognito, you can ensure to disable any of your browser extensions as these can change how the pages look and perform.
  • Ensure that there are no popups being blocked in your respective browsers. This will eliminate any potentially missed popups, such as a new tab requiring to be opened for a specific functionality.
  • Make sure that you don't have any firewalls or VPNs enabled on your device or network that may be blocking Shopify. To ensure that Shopify isn't blocked, you can either use a different location for your VPN, or turn it off entirely to see if that'll help.
  • Try another internet connection, for example you can try switching to a cellular network on a phone rather than Wi-Fi for the time being. This might eliminate a weak internet connection or ISP issues that may be providing errors.
