Discuss and resolve questions on Liquid, JavaScript, themes, sales channels, and site speed enhancements.
My site speed has been the same or a little faster than other stores up until the last few days. Now all of a sudden it has tanked and I'm not sure what to do. All of my images are optimized, I deleted an app that I installed around the time it tanked but it hasn't gone back up. What can I do? Babiesandbeyond.co

Hi, @BPayne.
Thank you for reaching out!
There are a few things you can try to improve the speed and performance of your website, especially if it has suddenly slowed down in the last few days:
1. Clear your website's cache: Sometimes, temporary files cache on your website can affect its performance. Clearing this cache can free up website speed and increase your website's overall performance.
2. Check your website theme: Your website's theme plays a crucial role in its speed and performance. A poorly coded or outdated theme can slow your website down. You might consider switching to a responsive and optimized theme to help speed up your website.
3. Optimize your images: Optimizing your images can significantly improve the loading time of your website. Ensure that your images have been compressed and that their file sizes are as small as possible without affecting their quality.
4. Reduce the number of plugins and apps: Unnecessary plugins or apps can slow down your website. You should continuously review and remove any plugins or apps that are not essential to your website's functioning.
Please let me know if you have any further questions and if that works for you! I would love to learn more about your business. What type of products do you sell?

Hi @BPayne
This is Richard from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder app.
Do you remember if during that time you made any change to your store? Like changing theme or adding any custom code?
I checked on Google page speed insight and the result is your store is one of the fastest I've seen 88 on mobile, 98 on desktop https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-babiesandbeyond-co/ghnbfpm5fv?form_factor=mobile . Based on my experience on your store, it's super fast, so in terms of shoppers, they won't be affected.
I guess the way Shopify may change the way they calculate page speed. To confirm this your can contact Shopify support and ask for it.
Best wishes,
Richard.
