Add a toggle on/off for "Show variant on PDP when stock is 0"

I have suggested this for a few years now, so putting it out to the larger community. This feature would save us hours per week in manual stock monitoring & keeping our product detail page current.

Basically, the feature is having a toggle on/off to “show variant when stock is 0.” This is completely different from “continue selling when out of stock” and is necessary to work with notification apps (e.g. Email me When Available).

Would anyone else find this very useful? This dynamic is very common in apparel businesses who have seasonal colors or colors that go away for a couple years, then come back.

Agreed that this would definitely make your workflow more labour intensive. Unfortunately waiting for Shopify to release a feature is really a game of popularity!

On a side note, have you ever considered a code solution? You could add a checkbox metafield to your stores product variants. That would essentially act just like the toggle you require!
