Is it possible to charge taxes on the product as well as on shipping charges? It needs to showcase on the checkout page.

Yes, it is possible to charge taxes on both the products and the shipping rates themselves. In certain regions it may be necessary to charge taxes on shipping, so I can understand why you would want to implement this on your store. The steps to enable this functionality are as follows:

From your Shopify admin, navigate to Settings > Taxes and duties.

Check ‘Charge tax on shipping rates’.

Don’t forget to Click Save.
If you wish, you can also specify unique tax rates for shipping charges by setting up tax overrides for specific locations. This can be useful in situations where different tax rates apply to different products or shipping destinations. This may be necessary to comply with local tax laws, however it’s important to check the tax laws in your region and seek professional tax help if necessary. We can’t provide tax advice, so it’s important to understand your tax obligations and configure your Shopify tax settings accordingly to ensure compliance.

Thank you for your guidance.
I already click on charge tax on shipping rates.
As I’m from India, & as per the government policy we need to pay an 18% tax on shipping. So I make a tax override on shipping (18% for India).
But when I check out, the tax doesn’t add on shipping.
For example, for the below product, I set the delivery charge at Rs.2500, I want to add 18% on Rs.2500 at checkout.
Will you please help me for this??

I can see that you have added a tax override for shipping, and have chosen India as the location. I believe I know what might be happening here. Depending on how you have your taxes set up, sometimes when the override is applied to India as a whole country, the override won’t work as you would expect it to.
It’s recommended that the tax overrides are added to each separate state or region. Can you try testing this by changing the tax override to a separate region in India, and then testing your checkout again, using an address located in that region?
If that works successfully, then you can proceed to add the other states/regions individually also. I realize that it’s a little bit of work, so testing with only one or two states first will be a good idea, just to make sure that it is actually the issue before embarking on the task of adding them all.

I checked this method, but it didn’t work.
In the screenshot, you can see, I added 3 to 4 states of India, & check with the proper pincode at the time of checkout, but the taxes on shipping doesn’t add at checkout.

Can you please try removing India, leaving only those 3 states, and then trying again with an address is one of those states? Having India included, as well as the separate states may be causing some issues.
