Adding a language switcher in Translate and Adapt

Hello, Would it be possible for Translate and Adapt to add their own language switcher without relying on my theme? Currently, my DAWN theme language switcher has limited customization. I Would really like Translate and Adapt to have their own switcher that can be styled. Is this a possibility for the near future?

Thank you :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey @AntCrescendo , the language switcher is likely to stay part of the theme. Any further customisation would need bespoke development. So that I can feed it back into the relevant teams, what would be your ideal in terms of what you can customise? Rich

Hello, @richbrown_staff I would like the option to add a language switcher to the header bar of my theme. As far as customizations are concerned, the language name can be abbreviated, borders can be removed, and colours can be changed.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Thanks

@richbrown_staff Could this be a possible integration in the near future?

Thanks,

Hey @AntCrescendo - selectors in the header of Dawn should happen in early 2023. Abbreviated language names and border removal aren’t currently on the roadmap and would require custom coding. Colours are inherited from the theme, and changes would require custom coding. These ideas have been gratefully fed back in, but I wanted to manage expectations.

Hey, @richbrown_staff Sounds good. If you could follow up with me once the selector has been implemented, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for your support,

I would like to remove the switcher on the right bottom of the screen but cant find the option in translate&adapt app.

Hope you can help me!

Thanks!

Simon

Hey @SimonSim , Translate & Adapt doesn’t manage switchers, they are managed in the theme (Online Store > Customize). You can turn switchers off there (dependent on your theme) - for Dawn it is in the ‘Footer’ section currently.
