Adding free text to products that comes our when exporting the orders

Hey all!

We have a rather substantial issue that we cant manage to solve. Our products are not physical and totally tied to people signing up to our national Padel League in Sweden. We only have a few static options, such as if they play in mens, womans or the mixed series and the level they play at. The problem is that we need to collect additional information, such as who is their partner and and partner email address - the player that signs up for the team must therefore add this info. As far as I have understood, you cannot add free-text to the product options in a simple way.

Therefore I added the “product options and customizer” app to enable free-text, but this additional info is not captured when we export the orders from the order page (we need to group based on level of play, sex etc).

Does anyone know how we can solve this in a intuitive way? This is really crucial for our webshop.

Hi There,

Apps like these that allow for product options normally store that data in the Shopify line item properties. These properties are not part of any Shopify export out of the box.

There are a number of apps that can help with this, including our Report Toaster app. Feel free to take a look and reach out to support via chat or email to get the exports setup properly.

Happy to hear - I downloaded and had a look, not obvious how I can capture the missing data from this reporting tool however. Anyone?
