I’m currently setting up my store to sell artwork with Gelato. I can’t seem to find a way to add multiple product options for one artwork. For example, if I wanted to sell my volcano_painting1 on a poster and also on a canvas, I would have to create 2 products on Gelato, 1 for the posters and 1 for the canvasses. This would also cause my gallery to show the volcano_painting1 twice. Is there an easy way to group these? So my gallery would just show the volcano_painting1 and when people click on this they would be redirected to choose poster/canvas/print etc.
Just found this whilst searching for the same thing. I agree this is not only a massive click-fest to add just one image to your store (and I’m offering posters, framed posters, hanging posters, ally prints, and canvas for most of mine so it’s taking an hour just to add one image), it’s also counterintuitive to my customers, who will most likely choose the artwork first and then explore different options for display/hanging. In fact come to think of it, why aren’t frames and hangers just options for the “Poster” product?
I suspect Gelato will not address this any time soon tbh, as they offer a subscription-based fix for this defect (ie if you pay them a monthly fee, they will sell you a fix for this bug, presented as a “feature” called “product expansion”).
I have one workaround to suggest: create a collection for each image and add each and every variant to it. You can them display each collection on a page in your shop, with an index page of collections (which would then show each artwork once). Even more clicking but I don’t see any other way to make my shop look like a customer would expect it to look.
You can easily create multiple product options for each of your artwork using the Easify Product Options app .
Here’s a quick demonstration on how to set up your options:
Create a custom option for customers to choose between Poster or Canvas. You can choose from 24 different option display types such as Buttons, Radio Buttons, or Dropdown.
Assign your option set to the relevant product(s), such as “volcano_painting1”. If all your artwork includes the option to choose between Poster and Canvas, you can assign the option set to All products.
Take a look at the examples below to see if it aligns with what you’re looking for. If it does, then the Easify Product Options app is the perfect solution for you .
Hey there,
I am currently trying to do the same thing with color swatches on my shop www.stadtbildposter.de but I still couldn´t figure out where the connection of a variant that I created with your App EPO can be connected to a product that I have created on gelato? Where is the connection?
Thank you!
