After purchasing email sent to 3rd party

I need some assistance.

I would like to send an email to a 3rd party vendor after a particular product is purchased.

I want to sell products from a 3rd party vendor on my website but I don’t need to get notified every time someone purchases something that is produced from this 3rd party vendor. I would like an email to get sent to this vendor with details of the order automatically when someone purchases one of their products.

Example: Product A (My store products)

Product B (3rd party vendor products)

  1. If customer purchases product A - I would like to get a verification email.

  2. If Customer purchases Product B - I would like an email to go to the 3rd party vendor.

  3. If Customer purchases both Product A and Product B - I would like an email to go to both vendors (Myself and 3rd party vendor

Does anyone know how I can make this happen?

This can absolutely be achieved by enabling custom fulfillment. This feature provides exactly what you are looking for; an email sent to your supplier to fulfill the order in question.

That being said, you will still receive a notification when you make the sale. There is no way to disable that, as a business owner you need to be aware of every transaction your store makes.

@Skye_1 has a great solution, especially if you don’t need tracking numbers from your vendor. However, if you want to send shipment confirmation with tracking number from your store to your customer, please take a look at Order Fulfillment Guru. The app handles the various scenarios that you mentioned, as well as the ability to provide prepaid shipping labels, send specific products to ShipStation, and send orders/sync inventory with other Shopify stores.
