Hi there, @inno_ventures
This is an old thread (original post from 2023) but the question keeps coming up, so here’s a practical way to think about it.
What you’re describing is really three separate jobs, and trying to solve all of them with one “AI assistant” chatbot usually ends up feeling clunky:
1. Order creation / workflow automation
This is Shopify Flow’s territory (free on most plans now) or Zapier if you need to connect to outside tools. Flow can auto-tag orders, trigger fulfillment actions, send alerts when stock hits a threshold, etc. Shopify Sidekick is also worth trying if you’re on a plan that includes it, it can answer quick natural-language questions inside admin.
2. Ad-hoc “ask a question” analytics
For quick one-off questions like “sales in the US last 7 days,” Shopify’s built-in Analytics dashboard with date/market filters covers a lot of this already, no app needed.
3. Recurring inventory + sales monitoring
This is where a chatbot tends to fall short for softlines specifically, because “inventory needs for 3 months” isn’t really a question, it’s a forecast that depends on sell-through rate, lead time, and seasonality per SKU. For that I’d lean on a dedicated reporting app rather than a conversational one. Mipler has an Inventory Planner report built for exactly this (reorder point, days of stock remaining, suggested reorder quantity per variant), plus scheduled sales reports that land in your inbox or Google Sheets daily so you’re not “asking” for the numbers at all, they just show up.
Here is a screenshot of the report from our test store:
Since you mentioned this is a new store mirroring an existing Amazon catalog, I’d start with Flow for the order/workflow automation and a reporting tool for the recurring inventory side, rather than looking for one AI assistant to do both.
What’s your current order volume looking like, and are you managing inventory across multiple locations or just one?
