AMA Recap | Google Shopping and Google Ads with Emmanuel Flossie March ‘25

Top 5 Questions#### 1. How do I contact a live service representative at Google?

The only option you have is to go into Google Ads, or Google Merchant Center > top right corner > click on the question mark.

2. Product Attributes: Singular vs. Plural

In Shopify and if you are using a data feed app, the data should correctly use the correct values. For example if you use Multifeeds, it will autodetect. I believe it’s the same for the Google and youtube app.

I recommend you update it in your data feed app, then check the results in Google Merchant Center to see if it’s correct.

If not, you could even use feed rules to transform the data. But I doubt you need to do this. I have never seen this case being required.

#### 3. European Product Feeds

For clients I manage, I love to use multifeeds, as it has a robust system to target foreign countries with a lot of options, and translation app support. It also supports different TLDs, so no issues there.

The UI, maybe, is a bit confusing, and I guess you need to spend some time using the app to get a hang of it. But I love using this app, great support if there are issues, and they are always open to integrate new features.

Here is the app in the Shopify marketplace: https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds

I think Google just introduced markets in the Google and Youtube app, but I have not tried it, because I use Multifeeds as it has a lot of necessary features that I use to improve my clients data.

I would never recommend a manual upload, as it requires too much editing and uploading, wasting a lot of time. Better to use automation.

#### 4. Google Ad Strategies for Vintage Sellers

You can’t control the rotation of shopping listings. Because what Google shows in shopping results is based on the search term + 200 factors. So there is no direct control. Of course you can improve the data feed quality, campaign setups for better results, but you can’t control ad rotation.

However what you can do, is only select a few products to show if that is your intention. However, I would not do this, and recommend that you list all products and only exclude products after you have tried to improve the data feed quality, then if still fails to get a sale or traction, exclude it.

But with signal sale items, that is very hard to get consistent traffic. So in this case I would consider setting up an advanced standard shopping campaign, and use targeted advertising, this to avoid wasted budget, and have a more strategic performance. I talk about this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiRIDzRrHno

#### 5. Product Descriptions of Health Foods Coming Up as Restricted

Yes that is normal. Google doesn’t allow you to make any claims or statements if you are selling healthcare, medicine or supplements.

In this case, you need to remove all claims and statements, both on the website and in the data feed.
No, it is not possible to not submit a description, all products must have a description.
