Looking for an app or a 3rd party “service” that basically replicates what Printful/Printify does for product mockups. Specifically this is NOT for print on demand (or else I’d just use Printful or similar).
We do custom apparel and looking for a way to do the following:
Create a product and upload a t-shirt design already created
Pick the colours of the t-shirt using realtime mockups
Assign a cost and sell price (either sell price via % markup or set price)
Ability to update the costs easily and “auto adjust” the sell price as applicable
Just like with Printful, after creating the product along with variants and mockups, have that pushed to Shopify store ideally with preset “configurations” - things like templates assigned, types assigned etc.
Just think of this “app” as Printful but for in house production instead of print on demand
I’ve looked at various configurators and stuff but haven’t found anything that saves a lot of time and semi-automates the product creation. I’m well aware that I can use a mockup tool to generate the images and hopefully match the colors, then upload each image, assign a cost/sell etc etc .. but it can take up to an hour to create a t-shirt for example with accurate prices and mockups.
Any thoughts appreciated - figure there has to be enough folks on here doing t-shirts but not using print on demand?
Search the app store and the forums for product-personalization, and the app store category for product-options.
Just look for ones with CSV import options etc.
Otherwise that many requirements requires a custom build unicorn :lia_pistol: .
Your basically asking for the source code of printful’s and similar entire business model off the shelf and ready to go for specific expectations of a specific workflow.
Especially since your framing it as the app managing the entire product AND designs instead of using the shopify product admin and the app just handles the actual customer facing concerns after configuring designs.

Thanks … not exactly looking for their “source code” but I get what you’re saying regarding my example of Printful. I have been searching for exactly what you mentioned … it sounds like your suggestion is custom development is the only way I’ll find what I’m looking for.
With all the focus on product customizers and mockup tools and stuff I was mainly looking for something that is existing and built for this kind of purpose or at least does some part of making things easier to bring product online. Given the magnitude of people selling apparel on Shopify I assumed there is something somewhat close to this existing. Someone suggested a page builder type of app but the ones that I have looked at don’t come close to my “want list”.
I realize this could be custom developed but I really don’t want to utilize that route currently. Thank you.
