Question for app developers. I built an app for Shopify and im trying to find testers what is the best way I can find people to test my app so I can get feedback on the features and to see if there are bugs that still need working out?
Share your app link here I’ll test it for you.
Hello @Arek02, best bet is a mix of channels: post in the Shopify Partners Slack/Discord and r/shopifyDev, list it on a structured beta site like BetaTesting.com or Erli Bird, and drop your install link in a couple of niche Shopify Facebook groups where merchants who’d actually use an app like yours hang out. Real merchants on test stores tend to give way more useful bug reports than random testers too. Hope that helps.

I’d start with a small, structured beta rather than recruiting a large group of generic testers.
- Create a separate development store for each tester (or use collaborator/staff access with the least privilege needed—never ask for the store owner’s password).
- Give each tester a short script: install/reinstall, first-time setup, empty state, the normal product/order/customer flow, invalid input, permission checks, and uninstall/reinstall cleanup. If the app has an embedded page or theme app block, test both desktop and mobile.
- Ask for the same report every time: store type, app version, browser/device, exact steps, expected vs. actual result, timestamp, and any console/network error with tokens and customer data removed.
- Keep one clean fixture store that you can reset and reproduce against. Fix the highest-impact reproducible issue, then have the tester run the same script again before adding more testers.
For finding testers, start with a handful of merchants who match the app’s intended workflow; their real products and orders will expose edge cases much faster than general crowd-testing. A simple checklist plus screen recording and a reproducible bug template usually produces far better feedback than “try the app and tell me what you think.”
