I went through the link but couldnāt quite figure out how I can give a fixed value discount and free shipping together. It says I can exlude free shipping over certain amount but I want to give some of my users a flat discount AND free shipping. Could you explain how it can be done?

Natively, itās not currently possible to stack discount codes to offer both free shipping and discounted products. That said, I was able to find an existing feature request to have this added to your platform from other store owners whoāve requested the same thing. Iāve gone ahead and added your vote to this request to show our developers there is further interest in getting this added. Should this be something weāre able to launch, then weāll make an announcement on our announcement page to keep everyone in the loop!
In terms of a workaround, you could offer a free shipping rate, while still offering a discount code at the checkout which would give the best of both worlds. That said, the shipping rate can only be set per country, and not per product which does throw a wrench into things if youāre hoping to limit free shipping to a specific product/collection.

Hi Peter,
Our most common discount amount is equal to the amount we charge for shipping, when customers donāt hit our minimum for free shipping. Therefore, our attempts to win new customers using our current discount codes are often unhelpful, since the discount ends up putting them just under the shipping threshold, making the coupon basically worthless (if that makes sense?) Offering a larger discount, or adjusting the shipping threshold, to counter the cancellation effect would negatively affect our business, so our desire is to be able to offer the discount plus free shipping in a code to these new customers for their first order. Being able to offer free shipping along with a discount seems very basic, and in looking into this before it seems Shopify customers have been requesting it for years. Really hoping it will become a standard feature as early as possible. Thanks for your help.

I would both like to add my vote for this feature, and emphasize that this doesnāt seem something that difficult to implement for it have taken so long to do so. You both have the ability to offer a discount on the cost, as well as free shipping, can you please explain the conditions preventing you from doing both simultaneously.

Since we are talking about free shipping, I was looking for some articles about expanding in Latin America - and especially Argentina - (since I am considering that as an option to my business) - and I found some great news about a logistics upgrade in their postal service that might be useful for you as well:
Thank you for taking the time to explain how this would benefit your business, and how by not having it negatively affects your business. Iāve gotten this feedback added to the existing feature request to further add to use cases for why this should be added. Using a third-party app such as Upsell may be your best route here given that youāve tried all viable workarounds that exist natively within the platform.
I hear what youāre saying, and believe me, this is a feature that Iāve wanted to be added to the platform for some time. Regretfully, the āwhyā to why we donāt have it isnāt something I have access to, however, I do know that these type of features arenāt as easy to implement as one would expect. As you can imagine, we receive hundreds of different requests, which require a lot of man-hours to review to fully understand what would be required to get these type of features launched. As we grow, we are able to deploy more man hours to these projects to help make them a reality, so while we havenāt yet gotten this added, I can say that our teams are reviewing this further.

I need this feature too. I switched to Shopify on march 1st (Iāve beenin business for 12 years), and needed this feature so many times since. I sell offline too on certain events and offer a discount on the event. And as the customers get their goods right away of course they shall not pay for shipping.
Please put my vote in there.

Add my vote. We need this feature to stack free shipping with discount. Influencers donāt want to pay shipping when getting free samples.

Iāve worked out a way around this, if itās a one off order, the customer is someone you know or is a specific individual like an influencer, wholesaler etc and you know what productsbthey want. It means you creating an order on their behalf. Instructions are for the Shopify app so may differ on desktop:
- Go to Order section of your Shopify and click + symbol to start a new order
- Click āAdd productā and select the products the customer wants
- Select āAdd customerā and enter their details. Include email address and postal address
- Select āAdd discountā and set whatever discount amount or percentage you want to offer (no option for buy x get y type discount)
- Select āAdd shippingā and select Free shipping (you will have to set up a free shipping rate in Shipping Settings in order to be able to select this here) or select Custom shipping and I believe you can set the value as Ā£0.00
- If there is an amount remaining for the customer to pay you can then select āEmail invoiceā further down and I believe they will receive an email with a payment link. If there is nothing for the customer to pay then you can select āMark as paidā and an order confirmation email will automatically be sent to the customer as if they have placed an order on your website
- The order will now be listed in your āOrdersā section as an unfilfilled order. Simply mark it as fulfilled when youāre ready to dispatch and the custoner will receive your usual order dispatch confirmation email
Iāve just used this to create a completely free order for a giveaway winner and it seems to have worked
Iām guessing that if the customer makes a payment then that can be refunded as normal if required later on

Iāve been hoping for this also since I switched from Volusion last year. It was so simple to do with them and it sounds like every other major shopping platform has this. I just went to one of my competitorās websites and a popup comes up that says ā10% Off and Free Shipping on First Order with Coupon Code: XYZā. That would be huge if we could do something similar. Or is there something that Iām missing??
