@Trevor this is very important feature because we want to give products away for completely FREE. For promotions, gifts etc. This is the age of influencer marketing and you need to go with the ages or become brontosaurus of ecommerce!

Where can I go to add my vote? This is very important to us especially when our shipping zone is limited to our Province which is bigger than most countries.

My only other thought is to customize shipping zones that could allow customers in our city to have free shipping.

I would also like to add my vote for this improvement.

We have been offering free shipping in our areas in response to recent events. We are also organizing marketing campaigns and partnerships with outlets where we communicate a discount code. Customers are dropping carts because they are confused why they cannot have both.

Hi all. I don’t think this thread is helping. Have just messaged Shopify on IG hoping that they will get someone to address this. It would be great if you could do the same (hopefully it gets their attention there) or let us know of any other avenues to raise this.

We would like to use free shipping fo friends and family who will pick the products up in person, plus give them a discount as thanks.

Right now they have to pay for shipping despite not needing it. We could discount further but the feeling then is that they still paid for the shipping service which was not used

Count me in for a vote for this feature as well. Although seeing the hundreds of comments in this feed in support of this feature it doesn’t look like we are going to get it after years of requests for it. what a pain in the butt!

It seems like the issue for me is that I can’t create a conditional free shipping discount as an Automatic Discount. The “free shipping” option as a discount code is no good, because if they use that discount code, they can’t also use another. If I could create an automatic discount that applies if the customer spends $100 or more, then this would be a perfect fit. With as many websites out there that have a “free shipping for orders over $X” options, it seems crazy that Shopify doesn’t have this capability.
