Applying individual taxes to individual products

Hi,

We have html-based web app and html-based retail kiosks throughout the USA to sell souvenir photography products at venues such as museums, zoos, etc. We chose Shopify as an e-comm platform to manage the products, help with payment processing, etc. So, we did an API-level integration with Shopify to display the product info, handle credit cards, etc.

We have dozens of locations, and each location has its own set of physical and digital products that we want to sell to our guests. We must have a single Shopify store to manage all those products for all of the locations, otherwise, the management burden (and cost) would be unacceptable.

But here is a problem - we need to apply its own sales taxes to products at a given location. How do we do that, given the there is only one place where we set up taxes in Shopify?

Also, we must add a thing called a “resort fee” - it is like an additional tax, which for some of our locations will be zero - and for others will be non-zero.

Is this possible to achieve with Shopify?

You can set up multiple tax rates in Shopify, which should solve your first problem. As for the resort fee, you could add it as an additional line item on the order.
