Are the products on a Shopify website still accessible by a website owner after un-publishing?
Hey @bh9999
Welcome to the Shopify Community! I can see this is your first post.
I understand you are wondering if products will still be accessible by the account owner after un-publishing them.
I’d be happy to lend some advice however would it be possible to provide a little bit more context on exactly what you mean when you say ‘un-publishing’? Are you referring to changing a product status from Active to Draft?
When a product is set to the Draft status, it essentially means that it is listed in the Products section of your Shopify admin, but is not accessible to any sales channels such as your online store. You can keep products in the Draft status and they will always be accessible in the Shopify admin for whenever you are ready to make them Active. More info on this here.
Perhaps you mean retrieving a product that has been archived or deleted? Archiving products is useful for when you no longer want to display a product on your store, but you also don’t want to delete the product. When a product is archived, it is moved to the Archived tab of the Products page and can be easily Unarchived there. Feel free to check out our help docs on this for more info here.
Deleting a product means that it is permanently removed from your Shopify store. Deleted products cannot be restored. Archiving the product instead is a better option if you simply run out of stock or no longer want to display a product.
If the above explanations are not what you are referring to, then please do share some more info with me here and I would be happy to help further!
