Does anyone have any idea if there is a good Shopify theme similar to the tech that Glossier.com has? I love the site.

Glossier does have a great look! Due to our security measures in place, I cannot confirm if Glossier uses Shopify and what theme they use. However, I did look in our theme store to see which themes most closely match their esthetic. We are a b2c retailer of yoga accessories - basically all and any of the yoga gear you would take with you to class (yoga mat, meditation cushions etc). It’s so hard to navigate all the different themes so you being an expert really helps. Are there any of these themes that I can add to basket directly from that first scroll down on the home page for instance?

That’s great! I love yoga myself, so your store sounds like one I would really enjoy. There are a lot of different themes to choose from. Some good information about themes is that there are two kinds of themes: Shopify themes and third-party themes. Shopify themes are free and come with 60 minutes of design time that allows you to customize certain aspects of your store, and you also have our Support Team available to you should anything happen with your theme that you need assistance with. If you use a third-party theme, you will need to contact the third-party developer if you need any help with your theme.
With any theme, you can add different sections to your homepage. For example, you can add a featured collection that shows your best sellers, and your customer will be able to select add to cart on that product. Is that what you are hoping to do? If so, I am happy to share how you can do that. I also found another great theme, called Streamline that looks like it would be great for a retailer for workout gear.

Streamline is great, but let me be more succinct or clear as to what I’m hoping to achieve.
My two goals for my homepage are:
(1)Being able to to add products into your basket directly from the Homepage.
(2)As soon as you do add them, a Basket Page opens to the right - I love this. It means you can keep browsing or checkout all in one place.
What I don’t know, is of course I am going to have to find someone to help me code/customize, but where is the best Theme to start from that has the best mechanics to bring in (1) and (2)?

Since we partner with so many third-party app developers, it is hard to know every theme’s features. I know that every theme’s code is customizable, and it would probably be best to find the best theme design for your business and then hire a developer to make those changes for you. I recommend hiring a Shopify Expert. A Shopify Expert is a trusted, third-party developer that can help with any customization or challenge with your business. This way you can have your website designed specifically for what you want it to look like.

Yes. They all say it’s custom work and want to charge thousands. I eventually found it myself in two instances both under $100. These experts just aren’t trustworthy. I feel like they try to take advantage of us non-techies.
