A month ago I had made a discount, who’s apply automaticly when a customer has a specific ‘tag’. Now I cant find these options in Shopify… 
Is this a options what is disabled?
Now I can only made discounts based on customer segment, but I cant the discount apply automaticly on customers with a specific tag.
Has anybody an idea?
Hi, @coenvb . I’m happy to look into this with you! Can you tell me more about the discount you’re creating, and the group of customers you’d like the discount to automatically apply to?
At the moment, automatic discounts can’t be created for specific customer tags or customer segments. That being said, you can create discount codes for certain customer segments and you can create those customer segments based on customer tags.
You can read more about customer segmentation here. This section on using the editor to create segments can be especially helpful. You can also read more about using discounts with Shopify here.
If you’d still like to offer automatic discounts to specific customers you can do this using a third party app. I’d recommend taking a look at Automatic Discounts & Gifts by StayTuned and Bold Custom Pricing: Wholesale by BOLD. You can also find a list of popular discount apps in this blog post.

I would also like to have an automatic discount apply to a customer segment (based on a tag).
But it looks like that isn’t possible. Everyone can have the automatic discount, or those customers can use a code.
Can we hear from Shopify that why they don’t offer “specific customers” filter for automatic discounts?
This can be extremely helpful and the feature is already in place for other discount types.
I also need this functionality.
I want to automatically give my customers how have accounts free shipping. This is to incentivize them to create accounts and to subscribe to my newsletter. E.g., I’d like to give subscribers automatic discounts.
It is crazy that automatic discounts can’t be used with customer segments. Why not??!?
Of course it is not the same if our customers need to enter manual discount codes.
Please escalate this to Shopify’s list of things they should do!

Automatic discount based on Customer tag - no app
Customer segmentation is definitely one of the ways most apps offer. However, applying an automatic discount based on a customer tag provides more flexibility. Vista checkout rules allow many conditional automatic discounts, and the customer tag is one of them.
It allows the option of using a discount code based on a customer tag + an option to limit the usage of the discount code for each customer.

You can apply percentage or fixed amount discount on products or collections based on customer tags. You can also apply different discounts on different variants with this app.
