We want to create a Create-Your-Own gift bundle, with the following set up:
Customer needs to select 2 products from a several choices.
The selection of products are priced differently. Therefore, we cannot do fixed priced bundles.
The bundle adds a fixed amount for gift box.
For example, product 1 is 10, product 2 is 20, and the gift box is 3. The cart total needs to be 33.
I mention this because I tried the route of creating a “discount“ with a Buy X Get Y, but Shopify requires a discount for product Y.
I am also testing gift box apps, but so far, both of them require customers with ticking a checkbox.
I am hoping for something like when the customer creates their bundle, the gift box is automatically added to the cart because the item is a gift bundle.
I also looked possible automating with Flow, but it seems like customer adding to cart is not a trigger?

Next, to automatically add the gift box, you can create a custom field (checkbox) and set it as both default and required. This way, the gift box is always included without customers needing to click anything
The bundle price is automatically calculated based on the prices of the selected products. You can also choose to apply bundle discounts (percentage, fixed amount, fixed price, or even free items).
Since Shopify doesn’t allow automatically adding a paid product (like a $3 gift box) to the cart, the best workaround is to make the gift box the final step in the bundle flow. That way, customers must select the gift box before checking out, ensuring it’s always included.
