B2B portal for customers to self manage their staff

We use Shopify B2B features (on Plus) and we are looking for a self serve portal that customers can use to manage their own staff, reorder stuff, etc. What are the B2B compatible apps out there that work with Shopify Plus.

Do they work with Shopify’s native B2B functionality? I thought these provides B2B functionality that is implemented outside of Shopify’s core objects like Company, CompanyLocation, etc. So even they are good for someone not on Plus, I’m not sure why would anyone use these apps if they are already on Plus plan.

The main reason a Plus merchant might still use them is when Shopify’s native B2B tools don’t yet cover a specific need (e.g., complex tiered pricing rules, custom account dashboards, advanced purchase order flows) and they’re okay with managing that data separately from Shopify’s built-in Company records.

Unfortunately, I’m not aware of any apps that are compatible with Shopify B2B and offer the self-serve portal functionality you’re looking for. This gap likely exists because most marketplace apps focus exclusively on B2C, which is simpler to build and maintain. Shopify B2B introduces additional complexity that many B2C app developers prefer to avoid.

We’re experiencing similar challenges with our B2B clients who need features that aren’t supported by existing B2C apps. As a result, we’ve been developing our own B2B-compatible applications for Shopify B2B, including ResourceHub (product documentation and libraries for manufacturers) and group product configurators.

That said, I’d be interested in building the first self-serve portal specifically designed for Shopify B2B compatibility. If you’d like to connect and explore potential solutions, I’d be happy to discuss a path forward.

We recently launched a new app, Onboard B2B to help accomplish exactly this! The app has features for custom application forms and approvals, as well as self management of company locations and members.

I expect there may be new B2B apps before long, but as of now I’m not aware of any other public apps for integrating with Shopify Plus native B2B.

Hey @user188,

Shopify Plus currently supports basic staff management + re-order workflows natively inside customer accounts and I expect it to keep getting better over the course of this year. For more specific use cases, you’ll have to either use an app or custom build them yourselves.
