Being the authority

Should I be weary that customers would realised my products are private label

@Kalijess really great question!

It’s a valid concern—but being worried that customers will find out your products are private label is less productive than being strategic and transparent about how you present your brand.

  • You don’t need to hide that your products are private label—what matters is how you present it.
  • Be transparent and position yourself as a curator of the collections: “We partner with trusted labs to deliver high-quality products aligned with our brand values.”
    • Working with a partner like Blanka, you get to choose from North American made products that are really thoughtfully and carefully selected based on the quality and the manufacturers. This is super important to us, so we can confidently provide them for our merchants!
  • Customers care more about quality, trust, and experience than who made the formula. Owning your role as the expert who selects and brands the best products builds more credibility than pretending to formulate them yourself.

Fun fact: tons of big brands out there started, and continue to operate using private label products! Hint: Kylie!

Hope that helps!
