This question might seem a bit unorthodox, but has there been a set of 3-5 site elements and/or app combinations (in terms of layout, integrations, and overall UX feel) that seems to always perform noticeably better than the rest. Like a pairing of specific apps or a way of doing things (like round shapes for buttons, hovering menus, or using the color pink etc). Just anything that you’ve noticed always seems to increase conversion rates but don’t really get talked about. For extra context, this is for a store selling cake decorating supplies.
Hi there,
This is a great question. There are site such as https://goodui.org/ that collect A/B tests results from a large variety of sites to try and show which kinds of things tend to work more than not.
However, I would advise caution here. What you’re looking for is essentially the same as if you owned a physical store and you spent all your time making sure the door opened correctly and the stairs were the correct height and the aisles were the right width. The fact that something tends to work on multiple sites makes it, by default, a pretty uninteresting and pedestrian thing about websites.
If you want to grow your business, you need to be thinking about bigger, strategic things, Make sure your product offering, pricing, proposition etc are all resonating well with the customer. Most importantly how are you differentiating yourself from the competition? This will get better traction than optimising for the lowest common denominator
