Beyond chat bot, what AI tools for customer service?

Topic summary

The original poster seeks AI tools for customer service beyond chatbots, specifically interested in customer behavior tracking, user experience analysis, and shopping journey insights.

Initial responses focused on chatbots:

  • Klaviyo’s K:Service was recommended for its auto-trained chatbot, integrated helpdesk, and 360-degree customer view with indefinite data retention
  • Several Shopify chatbot apps were suggested (Chatty AI, Tidio, SmartBot)
  • A voice-based AI chatbot (Klariqo) was mentioned for adding human touch and tracking sentiment during conversations

The poster repeatedly clarified they want AI applications beyond chat interfaces — specifically for data analysis, SEO, and conversion optimization.

More relevant suggestions emerged:

  • AI-powered product discovery: Search optimization that learns from conversions, handles typos/synonyms, and ranks by business goals (stock, margin, trends)
  • Smart recommendations: Dynamic product suggestions for PDP, cart, and category pages based on shopper behavior
  • Analytics: Identifying growth opportunities through zero-result queries, low-CTR searches, and ranking optimization
  • Luigi’s Box was mentioned as a tool implementing these discovery-layer features

Status: Discussion remains open, with one developer offering early access to a custom data analytics app (details pending)

Chat bot would be the first thing right top off the head. Other than that, what other ai tools can help with things like customer behaviour tracking? I’d like to see how ai could play into understanding user experience and their shopping journey with my business. Any suggestion is much appreciated.

For this, I couldn’t recommend more the latest in ai service tech from Klaviyo! It’s really become the world’s first crm built exclusively for b2c ecomm. New features in K:Service (as they call it) would include that chat bot you’re mentioning (but it’s automatically trained by the content on your site and can escalate to a real human when it cannot answer).

They also have an integrated Helpdesk that brings in a 360-degree view of every customer and how they’ve interacted with your business since the VERY BEGINNING. Pro tip: Klaviyo doesn’t just delete customer data points from Shopify (cough like Mailchimp and other ESPs) after a 12 month period - they retain it indefinitely. Having all this insanely detailed jorney points at your fingertips WHILE providing customer support in tandem on one tool allows you tobuild loyalty, drive sales, and turn more conversations into serious growth opportunities.

I’m a klaviyo nerd - let me know if you have any questions! Here’s the page on their site with more info  The Ecommerce Customer Service Platform - Klaviyo Service

You could try a few AI tools beyond chatbots :backhand_index_pointing_down:

Thanks for chat bot options, and i’m sure they are popping out while we’re chatting here.

I’m more interested in any other areas where AI can tap into - data, user behaviour, seo, conversion. Any suggestion or experience?

Apologies for the plug, but this is kinda something that led me to build Klariqo for Shopify. We are one of the first Voice AI support chatbot style for Shopify. I personally have been working with ecom stores for a while, and realised as fun and hunky dorey, chatbots are, they kinda miss that human touch.

Klariqo - Live AI Voice Chat

I personally feel a support agent that “talks” while customer shops, is gonna be really swell for customer retention and overall customer experience in the long run. The fun thing, is since its voice based, we can also track human sentiment during conversations as well.

Still chat bot :frowning:

I hate to live in a world where ai was still confined behind the frontdesk or popping out at the corner of a webstore.

If AI shouldn’t be “just a bot,” put it in the discovery layer. That’s search, recommendations, category pages, and the analytics that guide them. This is where revenue moves.

Search

  • Learns what converts and ranks products based on real goals: stock levels, margin, trends.
  • Recovers dead ends automatically with synonyms, typo handling, and “did you mean.”
  • Autocomplete suggestions evolve as it learns about the shopper

Recommendations

  • Adjust dynamically based on context and behavior.
  • PDP: “Similar” and “Complementary” suggestions that lift bundles.
  • Cart/checkout: Cross-sells tuned to margin, stock, or lifecycle stage.
  • Home/category: AI boosts new arrivals or bestsellers to give them visibility without manual work.

Category pages

  • AI combines business rules with relevance and lets you boost or bury products by keyword or collection while still showing what shoppers are most likely to buy.

Analytics

  • Surface the biggest growth opportunities: zero-result queries, low-CTR searches, unused facets, products that block scroll.
  • Continuously test and optimize ranking strategies toward the goals you care about and let the system adapt as those goals change.

For tools, Luigi’s Box does this (I’m associated), but even if you don’t use it, this is the type of AI that actually impacts revenue instead of just answering questions: Luigi’s AI Search & Discovery - Luigi’s Box AI Search & Discovery tools for your e-commerce | Shopify App Store

Hi @WingSpan we’re working on an app using AI for custom data analytics. We’d love to hear your feedback and could give you early access to it for free. If you’re interested, do reach out

I mean, what does your app do? What model does it run on if you could share?

Take a look at my app, autoBlogger — it uses the latest AI to fully automate your blog content which is great for SEO.

If you have any questions or need a hand getting started, just let me know!

I built a GPT system that tracks customer behavior patterns across emails, chat, and returns to predict issues before they escalate. Way more powerful than just chatbots. The key is feeding it the right data points - are you currently collecting post-purchase behavior data?

I see some interesting tools mentioned here, I’d like to recommend you AIYYO’s Myra/Nora SaaS

One of the AI-driven automations from the suit, is a lead generation pipeline, which captures a store visitor’s journey across the store by collecting data points for insights, sentiment analysis and engagement such as product pages viewed, time spent, images clicked, cart functions - all this meta data is then processed across different algorithms to create a sales funnel.

The chat interface also auto-redirects users to relevant product pages or provides them as cards for upsell/cross-sell based on your preference.

You can set up to receive instant visitor engagement/conversation summary with along with a quick follow-up action before the lead goes cold, and also define and set up workflow automation/triggers such as with cart abandonment etc.

As for CRM, the suite integrates with all your social channels to instantly respond from your store data/inventory to keep voice/text responses standard across channels. Natively multilingual realtime on voice channels.

She provides realtime order/tracking for WISMO support, and also plugs into to your Zendesk, Zohodesk, Gorgias and Slack accounts for augment helpdesk functions and human/agent handoff.

There’s a whole bunch of other workflow automation tools built in, and more 3rd party integrations coming up.. Besides the month long free trial to give it a spin, and try out. Would love to hear from you with an operational feedback to help improve the functions.
