We found two links to our collections on Google when researching and cannot find these links in our store collections list. I have gone through all the collections and the links do not exist. Shopify chat was unable to find it as well. They are sending it to a dedicated team but I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with this type of situation. I cannot figure out if this is a redirect link or something and if so, can we edit the link by any chance?
Hi @ACWORKS
Would you be able to share a sample URL of what you are seeing? You can remove your store address from the first part of it and just leave whatever comes after.
Also, please have a look at this thread and my most recent post on it to see if this is a similar or related issue noted here: Unknown Vendor/Collection pages - Community Forums.
URL is /collections/rv-marine-shore-boat-side-power-adapter/conntek
We have a collection named RV Marine Shore … BUT it does not say Conntek at the end. It is possible this collection was made YEARS ago and is now floating around the internet? I am not sure how to get rid of it or edit the end out. We don’t want it to say Conntek.
Hi @ACWORKS
Thank you for the link! I can definitely explain what is happening with this link for you.
collections/rv-marine-shore-boat-side-power-adapter/ is the collection in use here, the direct URL to the collection is still active and works. The addition of /conntek is going to be a vendor or sort option that you have available in the store.
You have the ability to view your collection products in list mode, which also shows all the vendors and tags you use for your products. This is usually a feature of your theme file and can be removed if you don’t want that option to be made available to customers.
Hello,
We only have two vendors on our site and Conntek is NOT one of them. I double-checked this by going to the products page and clicking on the dropdown menu for our vendors. There are two options. One of the two is not Conntek.
The tag “Conntek” for the products listed in these collections has been removed from each product. This removed the products from those collections but the Conntek informaion is still showing in the link, title, and description.
Do you know how to remove the list option? We have the Supply Theme.
Thank you for the screenshots! It looks like the page creation here is similar to the issue I was discussing in the post I shared earlier.
If the tag has been removed and there are no products listed on that page, then the page only exists so long as the query for it exists.
Example - If you use this URL: collections/rv-marine-shore-boat-side-power-adapter/fuzzypinkslippers you will see the same page load noting that there are no products included in that view. The additional content that comes after the collection title (RV Marine Shore Boat Side Power Adapter) is sending a query to the collection for anything tagged or named that.
I took a look at the supply theme and it appears that it actually does not include the option to disable the list view. The theme is also one of our “vintage” themes and doesn’t include our newest theme features and customization.
You can submit a request to our Theme Support to see if they can disable the list view option but you might be better served by looking into a new free theme that offers that additional customization as part of the theme. The new Refresh or Ride theme are both great options for you!
