Can I create a 'Coming Soon' page on my site before launch?

Hi Everyone.

Is it possible to have a 'coming soon" page that people arrive at instead of the full site? I’m still working on the site but want to begin social media marketing in advance of launching.

If possible I would like a potential customer to arrive at the site from social media and sign up for a newsletter. Is it possible to do this on Shopify without having full access to the site? I don’t want people searching and arriving at a half baked site. Any ideas?

Many thanks

I believe you can hide pages that you dont want to show.
Go to your admin page>Sales Channels>Online Store and create a copy of your theme.
In the active theme, just have your blank site with your main menu with just the options you want to show (e.g. sign up, home page, FAQ, etc.) and just show a section showing a “COMMING SOON” text while you work on the copy. Once you have finished working on your site on the other theme, just activate the copied theme.

Here’s how you can achieve this on Shopify:

Enable Password Page: Shopify has a built-in feature called the Password Page.

Go to Online store > Preferences then visitors can see password page only.

Customizing the Password Page: It should reflect your brand. add images, change colors, and modify text. ‘Online Store’ > ‘Themes’ > ‘Customize’ section.

Newsletter Sign-Up Integration: You can use Shopify’s own email collection features or integrate with popular email marketing platforms like Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or Omnisend.

Certainly, on Shopify, you can create a “coming soon” page to engage potential customers while you’re still working on your site. Utilize Shopify’s password page feature, enabling you to restrict access to your storefront. Simultaneously, you can set up a newsletter signup form on the password page, allowing visitors to express interest and stay updated. This way, you can kickstart your social media marketing efforts without revealing an unfinished site to the public.
