Can I pay for only 1 month of subscription?

I want to try Shopify for a month just to check out a few features, but don’t want to end up being in a year contract.

Can I just pay for 1 month’s worth?

Hello @gav0192 ,

This is Ren from the Shopify support team, hoping to help you out here.

You can certainly select a plan and then close your store prior to the next billing period. In this way, you’ll have access to the platform for a month. While annual plans are possible, the standard plans you are seeing a prompt for at the end your trial will run monthly. You can read more details about our various plan options here.
In order to close an account, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Log in as the store owner.

  2. From your Shopify admin, click Settings, and then click Plan and permissions.

  3. In the Store status section, click Sell or close store.

  4. Click Close store.

  5. Enter your password to continue.

  6. At this point, you can contact Shopify to see if there is anything we can do to help. If you’re sure that you want to close your store, then select a reason from the drop-down menu and then click Close store.

Alternately, you also have the option to Pause your store in two different ways.

The Pause and Build plan lets you pause your storefront and continue to work on your store for a reduced subscription fee. You can access your Shopify admin to optimize your store and edit your products, but your checkout is disabled. This means that your customers can visit your store and browse your products, but they can’t purchase your products.

The Pause plan lets you pause your store for three months and pay no subscription fee. While you are paused, you can step away from your store completely and focus on other priorities.

Unlike the Pause and Build plan, you can’t access your Shopify admin, work on your store, or sell to customers while you are on the Pause plan.

More details can be accessed here. That being said, I’d love to hear more about the features you’re hoping to trial and how they’re relevant to your business! Let me know if there is anything further I can clarify for you.

Hi @Ren ,

So closing my account is the only way to be billed for one month, and not the entire year?
