Is it possible to have multiple themes on same domain?

It is possible to have multiple themes on one store, but only one theme can be published/live at the time.

Your question is a great one. As mentioned by @MarinaPetrovic , you can only have one theme published on your store at a time, you can learn more about this here. This means, you cannot assign theme 1 for domain.com and then have theme 2 for domain.com/store2.
