Can Shopify integrate weather forecasts into customer orders?

Hello,

I am in the tropical fish industry and we sell our fish online using the Shopify platform. Does Shopify have an app that can integrate weather forecasts into customer orders (EX: based off of zip code). With cooler temps ahead, we are looking for a quicker way to get weather forecasts than doing individual searches for each order going out. Ideas and suggestions are appreciated.

I don’t think there is. But there’s a solution, as a Shopify developer, I can easily code a custom section in your Shopify store so you can add the weather forecast to any page of your choice.

I should have noted above that in the colder times of year we include heat packs with our orders. The number of heat packs used with a shipment is based off of a temperature range (EX: 49 degrees F to 20 degrees F gets two heat packs ). Anyways, our Shopify store is integrated with ShipStation. We create pull-lists and shipping schedules by exporting info from Shopify orders on ShipStation, creating CSV files. I would need these weather forecasts to be included with each order on the pull-list. I hope that makes sense.

Yes, it all makes sense and I get your point.

But with this new instruction, just simple coding won’t work. At this point, you’d need a custom Shopify app of yours to perform this function and I can help you develop one.

Our company also ships heat sensitive products, and we are looking for an app that can help us use delivery destination heat information to inform shipping method. We would 100% be interested in this capability.

The WeatherIShip app on Shopify does exactly this!

Checks weather forecast for the destination, and tells you if its safe to ship or not
