Can the chargeback dispute process be expedited?

If a customer issues a chargeback and you submit the needed documentation to dispute it, is there any way to speed the process up? Because currently I have too wait till March 22 until my response will be submitted to the bank. But is there anyway I can have it submitted sooner?? Please help?? Small business and someone was trying to get over!?!

Don’t worry, you’ll wait the entire time and then you’ll lose the dispute. I don’t think it’s possible to win a chargeback, their bank will always side with their own customer. Even when you have ironclad proof.

Even if the customer admitted they authorized the transaction and received the item? I hope I win this dispute b/c that’s just unacceptable

I got fed up with this too, but I swear it’s possible to win chargebacks. Here’s how:

Generally, best way to handle chargebacks through shopify is to prevent it. Mainly that’s going to be through using a good fraud analysis tool (not the native shopify one) and having great communication / shipping updates with the customer.

Even after that, you’re still gonna get some chargebacks, and in those cases it really helps to know how to respond in a way that will make you win the chargeback. It’s not even what you would think wins a chargeback. Generally, the short and sweet responses are the ones that work, not the long, detailed and compelling responses most merchants try to right.

At the end of the day, I guess you have to think that there’s another human reading this response and determining who gets to keep the money, and you’re not always going to get it back, but if you use a proven response, you can usually win back 60-70% of chargebacks.

The issue is writing the actual “proven” response, plus all the time, stress, and headaches that go into preventing chargebacks. Unfortunately it’s not possible to speed up the time until your response will be submitted to the bank. I’m not sure why shopify doesn’t allow this, it seems like such a simple feature to just have a “submit now” button. I guess we can hope that one day they’ll add this.
