Can two people jointly own and manage a single online store?

Hello! Me and a friend decided to try and open a store via shopify, while looking how to get started i noticed that the information Is only based for 1 person and i was wondering if the store could be opened by two people, and, in case It Is possibile, how to do so.

I saw that only One owner per website Is allowed but Is there a chance to split the earnings and taxes by setting the second Person as “staff”? Would It Be correct or the best idea would be to create two separate accounts?

Hi!

So the reason for this is that Shopify works with companies. If you want to split your earnings here’s what you gotta do.

  1. Sign up and make sure the store owner is either of you, this is also the person who is listed as the owner of the company.

  2. Add a second beneficiary while signing up for Shopify Pay. This is for legal reasons the second person in the company. You can decide internally you both have the same amount of vote right etc.

  3. Make 1 company bank account. And let your Shopify store payout to that account.

  4. From that bank account, after taxes, split the profit evenly between the two of you.
