Can we print retail barcode labels directly from purchase orders?

Is there anything in the works to offer the ability to print retail barcode labels for products ordered, right from the purchase order? It would be a time saver to be able to click on each item in the purchase order that I would like to print, and then select print retail labels and then select how many I need printed.

Hi, @Flags53545 !

Thanks for sharing this feature request. I understand that it would save time to print retail barcode labels from the Orders page, and I’m happy to forward this request to our developers.

yes!!! looking for the answer!!!

It would be nice if when we enter say 50 new styles theres a way to quickly just print the barcodes when were done entering- its way to manual - I hope shopify figures this out!!

This needs to happen ASAP. This is a pretty standard feature on almost any platform.

Hi, @jmoyano84 !

To clarify, are you using the free Retail Barcode Labels app? You can generate and print labels within the app, or print from the product list view (details here). I’m happy to submit feedback to our developers if you’d prefer to print directly from the Orders page instead.

I am using that app, it would just be nice to have boxes next to the products that I could select all of the products I would like to print labels for.

I reported the same issue last month. Coming from Intuit POS (which will not be supported in October), when I received products from a PO, I could easily print the bar code labels. I have 100’s, if not 1000’s of items that I need to receive and print barcodes and the inability for Shopify to address this may make me switch to another POS system. What took me minutes to do with Intuit POS takes days with Shopify.

Thank you for sharing your experience here. I see your other post about this but didn’t see any replies from Shopify Support. Is this something you’ve already spoken to our team about? If not, I’ll submit this feedback to our developers for consideration in future updates.

These posts are spot on! The ability to receive items on a PO and print labels right from the purchase order screen is a must have. Please see if this functionality can be added.

Hello!

Is there any update on this?

It is such a time suck to have to go back and enter each item to print barcode labels.

For the continuous rise in cost for Shopify- this should be addressed immediately.

Hi Sophia,

Any update on adding the ability to print barcodes straight from the purchase orders?

It is a huge time waste to have to go back and do this for all our packages coming in.

As a recent migrant from QB, the lack of this function is devastating to our workflow. We receive multiple PO’s a day with dozens of different products at multiple locations. What was once a 10 minute task has now become a multi-hour ordeal. Having to print from individual product pages just isn’t feasible for the scale of our business, not to mention that Shopify’s “Retail Barcode Labels” app does not allow reformatting Avery label placements, which is even more of a headache.

There are other threads on this forum begging for this functionality from over a year ago with no support engagement. As it stands we are very disappointed that Shopify does not offer, nor seem to be developing, what should be a standard function.

Hi Sophia!

Have the developers started work on the ability to print barcode labels straight from the purchase order without having to go to the barcode app and re add all the products again from inventory?

It is such a time waste to have to do three steps- add the product to PO, then go back to the label app- add the items again- then print them.

Hi has there been any update on this function? We also have multiple po’s throughout the week! We have tried using apps but the barcode labels are dreadful and won’t scan if we put a price on them???

I found an app in the Shopify app store called Yanet. If you use Stocky for your purchase orders, the Yanet app offers the option to print from purchase order. Hope this helps!

Also looking for this functionality.

Why no response Shopify? @Sophia ?

This thread is literally over a year long with no comment from support.

How we going with this ???

No reply from @Sophia as of now.

She was going to talk to the developers eons ago.

It takes forever to have to go find the items from a pull down and then determine the quantity from the invoice (which is not usually the total quantity). So annoying and time consuming when you have hundreds of different skus with variants.
