I’ve done some researching and haven’t found any recent posts on this topic. Are there any apps or options we can use to have Charge Accounts for some of our VIP customers? We have a special deal for our VIP customers that spend an enormous amount of money in the store each year called “Approvals”. The customer is allowed to take clothing and other items from the store without purchase to try on at home until they are satisfied with the product or they can return the item to the store. We need the ability to remove items from stock, place them in a charge account, and be able to check the customer out through the POS app.
My only other option is to create an order, mark as pending so we can edit items but then I can’t accept payment in-store through the POS. Any ideas on how to make this happen?
We also have a very similar function in our store. We offer to our very high-end customers a monthly account. So they are able to come in and pick up things as they would like and at the end of the month we invoice the customer for what they have purchased. We can see how to do this in the form of draft orders but getting the payment to be accepted via the POS I can’t find a process for that.
Hi there! We’re working on creating a Shopify app for “Charge On Account” very soon for the POS system.
However, in the meantime, we have another app, Draft And Custom Orders For POS, (https://apps.shopify.com/draft-and-custom-orders-for-pos) that can likely help, specifically with your use case of getting draft orders into the POS so you can process them.
Before this app, you would have to go into the Shopify Admin (on the computer) to create or edit a draft order, and then in order to checkout/charge a customer, you would have to email/send them the invoice link or charge them through your computer. Now with this app, you can create a custom draft order right within POS, and you can add that draft order straight to the POS cart in order to checkout/charge the customer inside your retail store or in person.
It also now accurately reflects the amount properly in your inventory.
Then once you checkout a customer with a draft order, you can view the completed order in the orders section of the POS app, and do whatever you’d like (e.g. print a receipt)
Is there any idea on when this will be available? I have a customer who will be converting from QuickBooks Point of Sale when it ends and is looking to convert to Shopify. They have Charge Accounts for their customers and this is a must have for them.
