Hi,
I’m trying to modify a location so it no longer can fulfill orders.
After removing the checkmark from the box and pressing save, this is the error message I get.
is invalid
Very useful.
Why can’t I remove this location from the list of fulfilling places?
Thanks
Hah ya not much help there, that sounds like a bug in the error reporting.
But an idea that came to mind is that maybe there is an active order with a product from that location assigned. I’ve seen where you can’t deactivate a location while it has pending fulfillment orders… in that case archiving or cancelling fulfillment unlocked it and solved the problem.
Thank you, yes that is possible that there are opened and active orders that may use this location and inventory stock.
I’ll have a look and try to close those and try again.
Thank you for the suggestion!
Shopify is very counter intuitive in this regard.
For future people who may have a similar issue:
There’s no unarchived order that uses this location. Even so, when I tell it to “Cancel Fulfillment Request” on orders that use this location and are unfulfilled, I get a message that it cannot possibly do anything to these unfulfilled orders.
So, I exported all inventory data to a CSV and set “not stocked” to this location to all products. Imported it back, now there are no products that this location can fulfill. In a way, this solved our issue because there are no longer products in this location.
But still, the original “is invalid” error is still present as I try to deactivate this location, regardless that is has no inventory or products.
