thank you for your reply. They didn’t kick in for a few days.
But I managed to get through with tags.
(for anyone who is running into this issue) Removing all the references to images completely helped (not sure why) and it doesn’t break products, images stay attached to product listings.
If I’m using the CSV importer in the Shopify admin I’ll usually remove any other columns so I don’t get confused or overwrite data that was just recently changed in Shopify.
Since you said removing the images column fixed it my guess is that Shopify was trying to reimport all the images for your products and somehow that was taking too long and so the whole processed silently failed.
Hope this helps some, let me know if you have any further questions. Best,
we tried removing all other pieces of information and leaving only 3 columns - Handle, Title, and Tags, but it would override our prices and set it to 0, and leave descriptions empty.
So for now our only solution is to export data from Shopify, remove images columns (there are 3 consecutive columns related to images), update tags and import .csv back to Shopify.
If you know why our product description and prices get reset, pls let me know, we would definitely prefer to import as minimum as possible.
I just worked with Shopify support for 5 hours on this …
It appears I may have to include everything, as stated above (but very hesitant to try), since when working with limited columns it blew away my barcode values, quantities, reset sku’s so attached images to a variant were gone.
