Charging damage/late/non-return fees for Rental business in Shopify

I’m working on a clients Shopify. My client has a dress rental business. She wants to put a temporary hold on the credit card until the dresses are returned so that she can charge extra if the dress is damaged or returned late.

We already take a look at these two threads that offers Split.it or Partial.ly as solution:

But this information is either misleading or outdated. They just offer payment plans. Here is the answer from Partial.ly: Partial.ly does not support these features. We are a payment plan service and cannot put a hold on cards.

We don’t want to offer a payment plan. We want to charge the full rental price at the checkout and then put an extra amount on temporary credit card hold in case we will need it later on for damage fees or late fees.

Can we support this scenario with any plugin or service that works with Shopify?

Hi Albert,

we don’t want to charge the customer extra upfront. We’d like to only change the penalty after 14 days, only if they don’t return the rented product. Is that possible with your app?
