Hi Community,
I often see brands take the volume route when it comes to scaling their affiliate programs. By that I mean they try to scout and onboard as many affiliates as they can.
I think this approach might have some limitations:
- Attracting affiliates who don’t bring meaningful conversions
- Wasting time on partners who generate fake traffic or engage in trademark bidding
- They get stuck optimizing the wrong links and landing pages
- They stop recruiting new affiliates and rely on outdated relationships
The best thing you can do, in my opinion, is invest in an affiliate manager. At the end of the day, it’s all about human connections.
You can simply take a stroll and pick out good tools that will handle your program settings: UpPromote, BixGrow, Affiliately, etc. Yet, it’s just buttons to push.
At the end of the day, affiliate marketing deals with humans. And humans long for connection. Last week, I talked to one of the guys that I knew making $20k monthly. And even though the commission was not the absolute best on the market, he’s still with them for 5 years.
“Me and Hana (the affiliate manager) are on a first-name basis. Everything I need, I go to her. She even helps me film review content at the headquarters on new products.”
Still, how do you handle the relationship with your affiliates? Do you chat with them, have dedicated personnel, or host webinar coaching sessions? Let me know!
