I recently swapped over my subscription app from Recharge to Seal subscriptions. Once I had imported customers and existing subscriptions, ensured product pages were showing the seal subscription app I removed recharge app and in doing so my shopify payments / pay by credit card option at checkout has been removed at checkout.
Checked on both mobile and desktop and credit card is not showing as payment option.
I went to settings> payments and nothing shows there. where I can reconnect shopify payments.
Has anyone had a similar issue? I also cant reinstate my old credit card payment - Stripe.
I do recall when working with recharge late last year they were swapping recharge over to use shopify payments.

It sounds like when you removed the Recharge app, it may have unintentionally disconnected or disabled Shopify Payments on your store. This can happen, especially if Recharge had previously migrated your store to use Shopify’s native checkout with Shopify Payments integration.
Here’s what I recommend you do:

Go to Settings > Payments in your Shopify admin – if nothing is showing under “Payment providers,” it likely means Shopify Payments was disabled.

Re-enable Shopify Payments – If it’s not listed, you should see an option to “Complete account setup” or “Activate Shopify Payments.” Follow the prompts to re-enable it.

If Shopify Payments isn’t showing at all – Contact Shopify Support directly. Sometimes the gateway needs to be manually re-enabled from their end, especially if it was managed via a third-party app integration like Recharge.

Stripe reinstatement – Shopify no longer supports third-party direct Stripe accounts due to exclusivity with Shopify Payments. If you had a Stripe account connected before, you’ll now need to use Shopify Payments (which is powered by Stripe under the hood) instead.
This isn’t an uncommon issue after disconnecting Recharge, especially if they were managing parts of the checkout. A quick support ticket to Shopify should get things restored promptly.
