Custom sale assigned to vendor, no options

Topic summary

Missing POS capability: Vendors cannot be assigned to “custom sale” items in Shopify POS (point of sale), preventing tracking of custom sales by vendor—critical for consignment workflows.

Impact and context:

  • Users handling consignment vendors/consignees need vendor attribution on ad‑hoc/custom items.
  • Previously available in Square; recent migrants from QuickBooks are resorting to manual notes to track sales by vendor.

Requested solutions:

  • Add a custom sale button that can be pre‑assigned to a vendor.
  • Alternatively, allow selecting/attaching a vendor on a custom sale line item.

Current status:

  • No resolution or official workaround is provided in the thread.
  • Inquiry for an update remains open and urgent for operations relying on consignment tracking.

I need a custom sale button on the POS that can be assigned to a vendor. We cannot track custom sales by each vendor. We used Square and the functionality was in there system. I can’t imagine that Shopify wouldn’t have something so simple yet so important. Really needing a fix please help Asap

I would really like this feature as well! I have consignment vendors and this feature would be so helpful. Please add this feature, or if on the custom sale you allowed attaching a vendor would work too!

Has there been a resolution for this? We just migrated over from Quickbooks and I have several consignees and currently have a notepad out to write down sales while I try to figure this out.
