You can change the change the size of the banner without using code.
- From you Admin page, go to Online store > Themes > Customize
- Follow the instructions below

This works where the solution of selecting a drop-down for “Featured image height” is too limited.
I’ve tried both solutions at https://mlbuchman.myshopify.com/blogs/nerdguy-fridays/nerdguy-friday-42-isasi
Changing image height simply chops off the top half of the image.
Adding the code you provided to the Custom CSS section of the Dawn 13.0.1 theme has no effect (cleared the cache twice, still no).
Tinkering with the blog.json proved way beyond my skills.

Actually, I just found what that CSS code did. It changed to blog listing page (https://mlbuchman.myshopify.com/blogs/nerdguy-fridays) to narrow cards. It’s the Featured Image I’m hoping to wrestle under control. Thanks
