Definitive guide: Install Dawn & update store without ruining a live store

Hi There,

Is there a definitive guide to installing Dawn and updating a live shop to Shopify 2.0 without affecting a live store?

I’ve never understood how to re-launch a site on Shopify so assume I’m using the wrong search terms.

Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Looks like Shopify CLI is the way to go - yes?

Yes it is the best way. But you can also download the Dawn theme at git and upload it the usual way, it works too.
Refer https://github.com/Shopify/dawn
Or you can upload it to your git and connect it to the store.
