Digital business card solutions - suggestions?

So, I’ve been thinking about getting some new business cards printed up, and it’s something I’ve always found a bit of a hassle. But recently, I stumbled upon this interesting article on the Shopify blog from back in March. They mentioned something called digital business cards, which I didn’t know much about. But as I read more about them, I got pretty intrigued.

Apparently, with these digital cards, you can easily update any of your information and they all automatically update no matter when you’ve shared them. Plus, you can include more than just the basics; things like a short bio, links to your social media profiles, your online store, and more.

Now, I did some digging and found a piece on the best digital business card reviews on the site I usually follow. There are a bunch of solutions mentioned there, and some of them seem pretty promising. But before I jump in, I’d really love to hear from folks who’ve actually used digital business cards. Do you have one? And if so, can you recommend the platform you went with? I’d really appreciate your insights!

Hi there! I created my digital business card with Beaconstac and I can tell you I’m quite happy with it. Interestingly, I read the same article with reviews back then. It wasn’t an easy choice to make as there are some great solutions out there. I picked this platform mostly for its amazing security features. And also, the bulk creation option comes in handy. I fully switched to digital business cards although some friends of mine printed a batch of traditional cards with QR codes. I guess it depends on one’s personal preference and perhaps the industry. Did you consider printing some paper cards too or do you intend to fully switch to digital?

Thanks a bunch! I was leaning toward this maker but it feels better hearing someone had a good experience with it.

To answer your question - it didn’t even cross my mind that I could have both. I was too focused on picking the platform, I guess. Actually, it sounds like a good idea to print a small number of paper cards and embed a QR code. So thank you for mentioning it!

The comparison post was very helpful. I have signed up for Uniqode’s trial. The fact that I don’t need to download another app to store and share my digital business card sealed the deal. I’m curious to see what other features the platform can offer.

Hey! After doing a ton of research, I ended up going with Avatalk for my digital business card. It’s pretty cool because, unlike the others, it has this feature called AI Persona where people can actually chat to learn more about me and what I do. Makes things way more interactive! Plus, it’s affordable and the website’s super easy to use. Definitely worth checking out!

Hey there!

I get the hassle of printing traditional business cards—digital ones are a total game-changer! You should check out Leapon, a UofT-based company offering a complete solution for digital business cards.

Leapon goes beyond just replacing paper cards. It provides sleek digital cards, robust contact management, and seamless integration with communication channels, making follow-ups, meeting bookings, and ROI tracking effortless.

I highly recommend giving it a try!

Great question, GerWalk Digital business cards are a fantastic alternative to traditional ones, offering flexibility and easy updates.

I’ve used HiHello and Beaconstac, and both have been great depending on your needs:

  • HiHello – Free and paid plans, includes QR codes, customizable designs, and easy sharing via email or text.
  • Beaconstac – Best for teams, integrates with CRMs, and offers NFC-enabled cards for instant sharing.

A key advantage is the ability to track interactions some platforms even let you see when someone views your card!

If you’re meeting people at events or networking often, these can be a game changer. Would love to hear what others recommend.

Hii! I ended up choosing Wave Connect for my digital business card after trying out a few platforms. What I like is that it goes beyond just sharing contact info, it also connects with things like proposals and client follow-ups, which makes it more than just a “card.” The setup was quick, the dashboard feels intuitive, and the price point was reasonable compared to others I looked at. I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the additional suggestions. Recent replies brought me back, so I checked my original post that some of you found helpful. I see that, unfortunately, the page I shared is no longer working. I decided to add an updated comparison article to this thread; it may help people looking to make a digital business card. It compares eight platforms based on ten factors (ease of use and sharing, integration, security, affordability, etc.) and includes a great table where you can see, for example, which card requires an app or if bulk card creation is offered. I’ve made my choice shortly after starting this thread, and I hope this helps those who are still looking for the best fit.
